Sugar Bottom Bikes

Sugar Bottom Bikes has served the North Liberty and Iowa City cycling community since 2007. Its North Dubuque Street store stocks road, mountain, children's and other bicycles, with a strong electric-assist selection. The shop has sold and serviced Aventon bikes for years, including cargo models such as the Abound LR and SR, and also carries Santa Cruz electric mountain bikes.

Customers can try many models before purchasing and discuss which frame, motor and carrying capacity suits their needs. The service department provides fittings, tune-ups, chain waxing and electric-bike diagnostics. The business accepts bicycle trade-ins and refurbishes selected machines for resale, creating another option for riders seeking a lower-priced bike. Experienced mechanics help explain differences across brands rather than pushing everyone toward one category.

Weekly rides continue through different seasons, and the store has parking and a dog-friendly atmosphere. Its appeal extends from family cargo-biking to serious mountain riding. E-bike owners can ask about drive-system compatibility before scheduling service, while prospective buyers can compare the riding experience of different electric models in person.
