Stedman's Bike Shop

A century of cycling history sits behind Stedman’s Bike Shop in Wakefield. Established in 1920 and located on Main Street near the bike path, the store sells, rents, and services a wide range of bicycles, including Specialized electric models. It serves people choosing their next bike as well as riders who need repairs or a rental for a weekend outing.

The workshop brings more than routine mechanical experience. Staff credentials listed by the business include Shimano and DT Swiss wheel-building certifications, an important distinction for cyclists looking for specialized wheel work. Customers also mention prompt repairs and unhurried, candid help when comparing bikes. Same-day service has been part of the shop’s appeal for riders who would rather spend time cycling than waiting on a simple fix.

The nearby path makes the Wakefield location a convenient starting point for a ride, and the rental program includes electric bicycles for those curious about pedal assistance. Whether someone wants to try an e-bike before committing to ownership, ask about a wheel problem, or pick up a traditional bicycle, Stedman’s pairs its long local history with modern cycling options and an experienced service bench.
