Springtown Cycles

Springtown Cycles is particularly convenient for people planning a ride along the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. Based on Springtown Road in New Paltz, the family-run shop rents bicycles suited to the route's gravel surface and also carries an unusual selection of recumbent tricycles. Catrike models, including electric-assist versions, form an important part of the business.

Owners Don and Donnie Avramis have built a rental operation covering hybrid and mountain bikes, family wagons and adaptive cycles. Customers can discuss a route, collect equipment and receive advice on which machine will be comfortable for their outing. As an Aventon e-bike dealer, the store also provides professional assembly, fitting and local support for pedal-assist purchases. Mechanics handle ordinary bicycle and trike maintenance, sometimes solving small problems immediately.

The location allows riders to reach the trail without first negotiating busy streets. Its selection of recumbent equipment sets it apart from a typical bike rental counter. Visitors looking for an electric trike or a rail-trail rental can contact the shop about fit, availability and service.
