Sports Basement - Sunnyvale

Sports Basement Sunnyvale combines a large outdoor-equipment store with a working bicycle department, allowing visitors to shop for bikes, arrange repairs, and explore other sports in one trip. The Kern Avenue location includes mechanics, tune-up services, and a rental operation alongside ski, snowboard, and fitness selections.

Electric bicycles are part of the offering, including Troxus models, and customers have described buying an e-bike here before returning to the shop for repair. The bicycle department also stocks tires, wheels, lubricants, and accessories. Rental tandems come with safety checks and helmets, while parking-lot test rides offer a chance to get a feel for a bicycle before purchasing it.

Staff are often remembered for helpful, professional advice without heavy sales pressure. The store's Basementeer membership adds discounts and supports schools and nonprofit organizations, and community events are part of the wider operation. Some shoppers have encountered long checkout lines or thin staffing during busy periods. For Sunnyvale cyclists, the appeal is the combination of bike retail, hands-on service, rentals, and a broad outdoor community under one roof.
