Spokesman Bicycles

Spokesman Bicycles is a longtime downtown Santa Cruz cycling business on Cathcart Street, with directory sources tracing its history to about 1980. It offers new bicycles, including electric options, together with rentals, fittings, and workshop service. The store serves people who ride for transportation, exercise, and weekend recreation around the coast.

The source describes a customer relationship spanning roughly a quarter century and a company initiative called Smiles for Miles. Bike fitting is part of its work, which can be important for comfort and control on longer rides. The workshop handles general tune-ups and more involved maintenance, while the sales team helps compare frame types, size, and riding position. Visitors can also inquire about rentals to explore the area or try a different bicycle style.

The Cathcart Street location places the business within Santa Cruz's central cycling community. Electric-bike shoppers can ask which pedal-assist models are carried and whether the technicians support a particular battery or drive unit. Current rental terms, product availability, and repair appointments should be confirmed with the store before visiting.
