Pedal Power

Pedal Power serves Altoona cyclists from Union Avenue with a mix of traditional bicycles, electric-assist models, and Levy electric scooters. Trek and Electra are among the lines represented, while BMX equipment and accessories broaden the selection beyond commuters. The store also has a service bench for common mechanical problems, from tuning a bicycle to getting its brakes working properly again.

Owner Tom Lauver is associated with both sales and repair questions. Customers describe patient explanations and helpful troubleshooting, including a Gazelle Arroyo accessory issue resolved after another shop struggled with it. The staff also assists newer riders selecting equipment, alongside repeat customers returning for straightforward maintenance. Those experiences suggest an emphasis on diagnosing the actual problem rather than pushing an unnecessary replacement.

The Union Avenue location makes the shop accessible to Altoona-area riders who want sales and workshop support under one roof. Weekday hours and a shorter Saturday opening have been listed. While Pedal Power handles more than scooters, its Levy models and work with electric bicycles give customers more than one electric riding option.
