Palmetto Seating & Mobility

Palmetto Seating & Mobility approaches mobility equipment as a matter of individual fit, particularly for children and adults with complex needs. Founded in 2000 by Mark and Dana Mitchell, the family-owned Anderson company works from Tillotson Road and focuses on customized rehabilitation equipment rather than ordinary consumer scooters.

Its selection includes made-to-measure manual and powered wheelchairs, molded seating, adaptive strollers, standing frames, gait trainers, and safety beds. Certified assistive technology professionals work alongside a rehabilitative engineering technologist, bringing technical knowledge to equipment evaluations. The company also supplies enteral, incontinence, and other medical products that families may require at home.

Palmetto collaborates with physicians and therapists when determining seating and mobility arrangements, then provides maintenance and repairs on equipment it supports. The team works with South Carolina Medicaid and many private insurance plans. For families managing changing mobility needs, the combination of fitting expertise, clinical coordination, and continuing service is central to the business.
