Freewheeler Bike Shop

Freewheeler Bike Shop has served Grand Rapids cyclists from the west side since 1978. Its Leonard Street NW storefront blends traditional bicycle retail and repair with newer electric options. The shop lists Aventon and Gazelle e-bikes, including the Aventon Pace 500.3, and also carries the Levy Plus standing electric scooter for customers interested in a smaller commuter vehicle.

Visitors can try an e-bike before deciding what to buy, with staff available to explain how the equipment feels and functions. A full-service workshop handles tune-ups, wheel repairs, component installation, and other bicycle maintenance. Parts and accessories are available in the same location, so a rider can address equipment needs without making a separate trip.

The store's longstanding neighborhood presence is matched by an approachable style of customer assistance. Riders have appreciated clear explanations of repairs and straightforward pricing discussions. For those balancing everyday cycling with newer electric transport choices, Freewheeler provides a practical mix of vehicle selection and continuing mechanical support.
