Chalet Sports

Chalet Sports is a downtown Bozeman outfitter operating since 1953, with an emphasis on skis plus a full bicycle side: bike rentals, an in-house bike and ski repair department, and bike sales covering road and mountain models. Rentals earn steady credit — town-bike renters praise the Main Street location and the condition of the fleet, and ski renters describe quick in-and-out service with fair prices and convenient parking.

Staff expertise comes up repeatedly: one skier spent two hours having custom insoles shaped with patience, another got a warranty handled on a fast, clear timeline, and out-of-town shoppers describe staff staying past closing to help with boot fittings. The bike repair side is more mixed — one detailed account describes a botched brake-line shortening that a second shop had to redo, and a jacket buyer complained about the return policy.

The store serves MSU families, travelers, and locals year-round, open seven days a week.
