The Bicycle Outfitter has served the Los Altos bicycle community for more than 40 years, selling Specialized (including the Turbo Creo 2 Expert e-bike), Trek, and used bicycles, and is known as a tandem specialist. Its full-service repair department earns consistent praise, with excellent mechanics and emergency fixes handled on the spot in under 15 minutes; a fitting service is offered, and staff members Chris, Mike, and Hollister are known for fits, builds, and service respectively. The staff are knowledgeable and non-pushy, explanations are patient, accessories pricing is fair, and test rides are encouraged. Counterpoints deserve a plain mention: one visitor called the customer service the worst experienced and advised buying elsewhere, and non-emergency repair work can mean long waits. The shop organizes group rides from the store for different rider levels, and the founders run cycling tours in France, the Alps, the Pyrenees, Italy, and California. E-Bike Repair stands on the Specialized e-bike inventory combined with the professional repair department. The address is 963 Fremont Ave; the phone is (650) 948-8092.
