Dirt Rooster Bicycles at 35 Mellor Avenue in Catonsville is an employee-owned shop run by passionate bicycle enthusiasts with over six decades of combined service and sales experience, specializing in mountain bikes from Specialized and Santa Cruz alongside rentals and expert tune-ups. Dave walked one buyer step by step through sizing and suspension setup on a first electric mountain bike and steered two rental customers to trails matching their ability and timeline. Pricing is reasonable and transparent, with no push to buy new when a repair no longer makes sense, and short-notice service gets bikes dialed in for race day — plus weekly group rides and a rental fleet including Specialized Levo e-MTBs that rode flawlessly over 15-plus miles of flow trails. On the other hand, one frame was damaged during a rear-triangle replacement and the owner got no help afterward. The shop is open daily and can be reached at (410) 616-0494.
