A performance-oriented bike shop on West 12th Street, Competitive Gear is a Trek dealer whose own website carries a deep electric lineup. Product pages list the Trek Domane+ SLR 6 carbon e-road bike, the Powerfly FS 4 full-suspension electric mountain bike with a Bosch drive system, and the Marlin+ 6 electric trail bike, covering road, trail, and everything between. That documented e-bike inventory puts the shop firmly in the e-bike category, backed by a service department for tune-ups, diagnostics, and repairs and a parts-and-accessories retail side. The staff’s knowledge is the through-line: a new cyclist left with a full education on the new bike, and a vacationing rider got back on the road the same visit thanks to Peter. Long-term relationships are common, with one rider a customer since 1999, and the shop has shipped bikes across state lines without damage. Fair pricing on labor and parts keeps the service bench busy.
