Bikesmith Cyclery is Prescott’s mountain bike hub, operating from North Montezuma Street after a move from its earlier spot at 723 North Montezuma. The shop specializes in mountain bikes — Giant, Pivot, and Devinci are among the brands — with custom builds, suspension service, and wheel work alongside sales and rentals. Jeff, Julie, and Nathan are part of the crew. The service stories read like trail-rescue dispatches: Andrew saved a rider whose cranks were quitting mid-trip thirteen hours from home; a broken derailleur hanger that could not be sourced became a rental bike and directions to great Prescott trails; and Cam knocked out a last-minute rear-derailleur adjustment at 4 p.m. the evening before a race. The shop stocks the right parts when other stores do not, a real advantage on a riding trip. One rider’s fat-tire bike was turned away for lack of tubes — a rare miss. The downtown Prescott location keeps it close to the trailheads. For mountain bikers, it is the shop that gets riders back on the trail fast.
