Bike World has operated from 126 S 3rd St in Ames since 1979 as a full-service bicycle shop. The store sells bikes from Trek, Cannondale, and Jamis, including electric models such as the Trek Verve+, FX+ 1S, and Charter+ and the Borrego+ fat-tire e-bike. Its repair department handles tune-ups, brake and drivetrain work, wheel service, and accessory installation, with prompt turnaround typical for standard repairs. The shop carries helmets, cycling apparel, components, and a disc golf section, and it organizes group rides around central Iowa that are open to riders of all skill levels. Staff guide buyers through sizing and model selection and track down bikes not in stock for quick store delivery. The Ames store works alongside a second Bike World location in Clive, and the company’s riders participate in local cycling events. Bike World is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closing Sundays.
