Kegel’s Bicycle Store

Family-run fixture in Rockford, Kegel’s Bicycle Store works from 2605 Charles Street with a broad lineup ranging from city bikes to high-end mountain machines, plus professional repair, tune-ups and bike fitting. The shop sells and services electric models including the Specialized Turbo Creo 2, Turbo Vado SL 2 and Turbo Levo, placing e-bike work alongside its conventional bicycle business. Robb is the center of the shop’s reputation: riders describe being told to go see Robb at Kegel’s when returning to cycling after years away, praising patient guidance, fair pricing and staff who know bikes, fit, options and accessories inside out. The service department earns repeated mention for finding solutions to difficult repair needs, and for working on any bicycle regardless of where it was bought, taking care of customers both before and after a purchase. Whole families ride Kegel’s machines: one rider’s household, wife and two kids included, rides bikes bought at the shop, and another credits the staff with helping build a dream triathlon bike. The shop also handles BMX machines and custom projects. Hours run Monday through Friday 10 am to 6 pm, Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 11 am to 3 pm.
